We have disabled trackbacks on all our sites that run on the Drupal CMS, due to a spam attack on satirworkshops.com.

Satirworkshops attracted over 192.000 spams (increasing with several a second), causing the server's log files to fill up. WE have deleted the spams, and denied access to /trackback on all drupal sites. That way we prevent satirworkshops and other sites from being spammed, and our log files don't fill up too much, so all sites and services can continue to run..

We have done a quick investigation for anti-spam measures on drupal trackback, and found none. Hence the drastic measure above, unfortunately.

I'm playing with website layouts, reading up, looking around to see what interests me. As Nynke, our resident theming wizz said:

"Having a fresh theme always inspires me to do new writing"

And I'm looking for some fresh inspiration, to (re)write value propositions and services for a couple of 'my' "corporate" sites. And the blog could do with a restyling, since I'm looking at it almost daily (no lack of fresh inspiration there...).

For non-theming wizzes: a theme is layout that is applied over the basic content of a website. For instance, with a few clicks we could have all of the links that are on the left to appear on the right, or give the site a completely different colour scheme.

So, apparently Blog Writing Month is only for.... (US of) Americans. Gearing up for participating, I completely missed that it is called NaBloWriMo! The Na standing for National, which is, most likely, the USA... Of course it doesn't say it anywhere explicitly.... Because nobody thought about it!

I sent this diagram of effects to accompany our response to a request for proposal to "Not For Profit Foundation X". The clients' representative said the diagram spoke to her without the accompanying text that I was planning to write. I'm curious if it does for you too :)

Work on the power supply of our servers, as mentioned in Stable server scheduled downtime and experimental server scheduled downtime, has been completed succesfully.

Websites and e-mail are running normally, as far as we can see. As of last week, we've created basic integration tests for all websites we host, so we can see whether all websites are live, and their front pages are as expected.

We plan to add more detailed integration tests as time passes , for new sites and new features on existing sites, as well as for problems that we encounter.
